ADVICE ON Coronavirus

Following the announcement by the UK Government today it is with regret that we must inform you that all UK Gymnastics affiliated clubs must close from tonight (20th March) until further notice.

Having taking instruction from our insurers all members must follow the government guidelines. Should any of our members continue to operate against government instructions they will not be covered by our insurance.

On behalf of everyone at UK Gymnastics, we hope you all stay safe and we will continue to be available on the phones and email.

Information on Covid-19

18th March

The UK Government announced further measures in an attempt to halt the spread of Covid-19 by the closure of Schools from the 20th March until further notice. Along with Nurseries, Private Schools and Sixth Forms being told to follow this closure.


It was our hope with schools, remaining open we may be able to continue with our events, but with extra precautions in place. However, with the announcement of these closures, we do not feel it would be right to continue with our events, and will be now be cancelling all upcoming events until further notice.

16th March

The UK Government have released further guidance. This guidance is for Staying at home and Social Distancing.

Stay at home: guidance for households with possible Covid-19 infection

Households with one or more member showing symtpoms of Covid-19 must all stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days.

Guidance on social distancing for everyone in the UK & protecting older people & vulnerable adults

Social distancing measures are steps you can take to reduce the social interaction between people. Those aged over 70, have underlying health conditions or are pregnant, should strongly follow theses measures. 

12th March

The UK Governement have updated their guidance, advising those who have symptoms of Covid-19, however mild to stay at home and do no leave your house for 7 days from when your symptoms started. This guidance can be found on the UK Government website

3rd March 

The UK Government published their COVID-19 ACTION PLAN on containing the possible spread of the virus.

Preventing the spread of Covid-19

As with any illness, everyone is encouraged to follow Public Health England & NHS guidance to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. Information on how to do this can be found on the NHS & Public Health England websites along with the Public Health England Blog.  

 

Government advice on hand hygiene should be strongly promoted & encouraged. Equipment & facilities should be thoroughly cleaned & wiped down as usual following use.
