Who are we?
Our mission is for everyone to experience the joy and fun in movement and how it activates awesomeness. We’re committed to sharing the hidden benefits of movement and helping people to discover they can exceed their own expectations.
We see everyone’s ability and unearthed potential. As a team, we work together to create fun and supportive environments and to develop positive life skills.
We currently deliver this through classes in gymnastics, cheerleading and trampolining. (And there’s more in the pipeline....)
So what’s the current situation?
Following both a recent merge with Sapphire Cheerleaders and then the COVID pandemic, we find ourselves in a period of both growing and rebuilding at the same time. We’re really well set up and structured as an organisation, we’ve brilliant venue space and members wanting to return – what we are in need of are qualified coaches to run classes. We’re open to this being in all types of gymnastics, cheerleading and related activity types.
Is this you?
You LOVE your sport and see it as a fun force for good.
You share that in an infectious, inspirational way with children and team members.
You are reliable and committed to doing the best job you can and are curious about how you can improve, learn and take on new challenges – both personally and professionally.
You have experience within the relevant sports activity environment and are qualified with a L2 (or equivalent) coaching qualification (L1 minimum).
As an Affinity or Sapphire Coach, you will be responsible for:
Running great classes – in either a lead or assisting role, you have fun with what you do and are motivated to the best you can for your athletes.
Being part of our team - we work together. You’ll share your skills and we’ll support you in all the ways we can.
Looking to the future – we’re a creative bunch and know there are no limits. You are welcome to contribute to our future and to develop opportunities for your athletes as you are inspired to. You’ll always be learning and growing.
You will report directly to the club manager and staff trainer and benefit from all the mentoring, support and expertise they can offer you.
We’ll know you’re rocking it when:
Athletes are enthusiastic about working with you and get the best out of their sessions.
You are reliable and contributing positively to our team.
We all enjoy working with you around and are excited about the future.
What we offer in return:
Ongoing personal and professional development.
Employee Assistance Programme providing 24/7 help and support, counselling and CBT sessions.
All relevant professional checks, memberships and qualifications.
First aid training and qualification where relevant.
Progression opportunities – we plan on thriving through this COVID-challenge and growing. We’ve always an eye on other opportunities for the right people.
Internal staff workshops and training opportunities.
Staff outings including annual summer and Christmas parties (although we’re going to have to be creative with this year).
Uniform (a nice comfy one. With your name on).
Free on-site parking
Fun and fulfilment.
Participation in turning our vision of a transformed gymnastics industry into reality.
Sharing of our general awesomeness.
What do those currently working for Affinity say about it?
The boss cares about us, is always happy to listen and help where she can. There's a great mixture of ages and we support each other to stay positive and be our best "selves".
At Affinity, we are like a family - we're always here to support and help each other. We are always encouraged to take on new challenges but always have the knowledge that there is support if needed.
Affinity is a team of experienced coaches and people who care about each other.
I like working within Affinity because it means working together with people who have a wide range of skills and experience all working towards the Affinity goals and mission. No two classes are the same and every day is different.
There's always someone to talk to if you have a question or issue and everyone is encouraged to attend staff training and take on tasks outside of their comfort zone but with support from colleagues and line managers.
My favourite thing about affinity is that there is always someone to talk to if you need help with anything.
